👉#Kavach, is an automatic train protection system, which was conceived in 2012 & subsequently developed by the Indian Railways. It was first tested on a 100 km stretch of track in 2016 & comprehensive testing in 2022.  Kavach is expected to reduce train accidents by up to 80%. As of March 2023, Kavach has been installed on over 1,445 kms of track.

Kavach:-

#The development of Kavach was part of the Indian Railways goal of achieving zero accidents.

#Kavach is an indigenously developed system, and is not based on any foreign technology.

#Kavach is a Safety Integrity Level 4 (SIL-4) certified technology, which is the highest level of safety certification available.

#Kavach is expected to cost the Indian Railways ₹10,000 crore (US$1.3 billion) to installed across the entire network.
