Tea Garden Tourism - Wisdom
Is #WestBengal #TeaTourism overdoing its #TeaTourism?
It seems that tea tourism in West Bengal is heading for a huge glut with too many hotels and not much demand. The state government has been promoting tea tourism for a number of years now, and the number of hotels and resorts in the tea belt has increased rapidly. However the demand for tea tourism has not kept pace with the supply, and many hotels may, in the near future struggle to fill their rooms.
There could be a number of reasons for this glut....
First, the State Government has probably not done enough to promote tea tourism outside of India.
Second, the cost of tea tourism is relatively high, which makes it inaccessible to many people.
Third, the tea belt is not well-connected with other tourist destinations in West Bengal, making it difficult for tourists to reach the area.
If the state government does not take steps to address these issues, the glut in tea tourism is likely to get real. This could have a number of negative consequences for the State, including job losses in the tourism sector and a decline in tax revenue.
To avoid this, the State Government should focus on promoting #TeaTourism outside of #India, reducing the cost of tea tourism, and improving connectivity to the tea belt. The government should also work with the hotel industry to develop new and innovative ways to attract tourists to the tea belt.
