1967 The War that restored India's National Pride.

The Remarkable Indira Gandhi and The Revenge of 1962

The Indo-China War of 1967, also known as the Nathu La and Cho La clashes, was a series of border clashes between India and China that took place in the Himalayas.

The clashes began on September 11, 1967, at Nathu La, and continued until October 10, 1967. The fighting took place in the border region of Sikkim, which was then an Indian Protectorate.

The clashes were sparked by a Chinese attempt to construct a road through the Nathu La pass. India objected to the construction of the road, as it would have violated the McMahon Line, the Borders that India claimed as its own. The Chinese refused to stop construction, and on September 11, 1967, they attacked Indian positions at Nathu La.

The fighting at Nathu La was fierce, and China suffered heavy casualties. Indian forces held their ground, and the Chinese were repelled. The clashes at Cho La, which took place a few weeks later where China had to withdraw again.
