Choudhary Raghuvendra Singh, the Founder of DLF
Chaudhary Raghuvendra Singh MBE, was a pioneering Indian businessman who founded DLF, one of the largest real estate developers in India.
He was born on the 19th of September 1910 and graduated from St. Stephen's College in Delhi. After a brief stint in the Indian Army, he entered the real estate business in 1946. He saw the opportunity to provide housing for the millions of people who had been displaced by the Partition of India, and he founded DLF to meet this need.
DLF quickly became one of the leading real estate developers in India, and Singh's vision helped to transform the urban landscape of Delhi. He was a visionary leader who was always looking for new ways to grow the business. He was also a philanthropist who donated generously to charitable causes.
Choudhary Raghuvendra Singh passed away on the 13th of June 2000, but his Legacy lives on. DLF is one of the leading Real Estate Developers in India and continues to play a major role in the development of the country's urban landscape.
He was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for his gallant service in the Army. He was an elected Member of The Legislative Assembly.
