KPS Gill :- Super Cop
KPS Gill was known as the "Super Cop" for his role in bringing an end to Sikh Militancy in Punjab in the 1980s. He was a tough-as-nails Police Officer who was not afraid to take on militants. He also made a number of reforms to the Punjab Police, which made it more effective in fighting terrorism.
Gill was born in Amritsar, Punjab, India in 1947. He joined the Indian Police Service in 1968 and served in various positions in the Assam Police before being appointed as the Director General of Police of Punjab in 1988.
Gill's tenure as DGP of Punjab was marked by a number of successes. He led the crackdown on the Sikh militants, which resulted in the deaths of many militants and the surrender of others.
Gill's methods were often criticized, and he was accused of human rights abuses. However, he is also credited with bringing an end to the militancy in Punjab, which had caused widespread violence and instability in the state.
Gill retired from the Indian Police Service in 1995 and died in 2012. He is still remembered as one of the most successful police officers in Indian history.
