KPS Gill :- Super Cop

KPS Gill was known as the "Super Cop" for his role in bringing an end to  Sikh Militancy in Punjab in the 1980s. He was a tough-as-nails Police Officer who was not afraid to take on  militants. He also made a number of reforms to the Punjab Police, which made it more effective in fighting terrorism.

Gill was born in Amritsar, Punjab, India in 1947. He joined the Indian Police Service in 1968 and served in various positions in the Assam Police before being appointed as the Director General of Police of Punjab in 1988.

Gill's tenure as DGP of Punjab was marked by a number of successes. He led the crackdown on the Sikh militants, which resulted in the deaths of many militants and the surrender of others. 

Gill's methods were often criticized, and he was accused of human rights abuses. However, he is also credited with bringing an end to the militancy in Punjab, which had caused widespread violence and instability in the state.

Gill retired from the Indian Police Service in 1995 and died in 2012. He is still remembered as one of the most successful police officers in Indian history.

Assam:-

KPS Gill served in Assam for 28 years, from 1958 to 1984. He held various positions in the Assam Police, including as Deputy Inspector General of Police and Inspector General of Police. He was known for his tough stance on law and order, and he was instrumental in bringing the Assam agitation to an end. He was also involved in the crackdown on illegal immigration from Bangladesh.

He is credited with bringing peace and stability to Assam after years of unrest.

It is surprising that this most  remarkable Police Officers techniques have not forwarded & developed further....KPS Gill remains an "Encyclopaedia" & "Inspiration" for future generations of men in Khaki... who will work in the grassroots to maintain Law & Order & uphold #ConstitutionOfIndia.

He was so much more than just a Police Officer...... as relevant today as yesterday.....
