Pawan Kumar Chamling is famously credited with creating a Modern & culturally vibrant #Sikkim / India.
He has served as the #ChiefMinister of Sikkim for 25 years (1994 to 2019) and during that time he oversaw a period of significant economic, social & political change.

Improving the State's healthcare system. #ChamlingGovernment built new hospitals and clinics, and it also increased access to healthcare for rural communities. As a result, life expectancy in Sikkim has increased significantly.
Promoting Tourism. Sikkim is a beautiful State with a rich culture, and Chamling's Government made Tourism & Hospitality a priority. As a result, Tourism has become a major source of income for the state.
Protecting the Environment. Chamling's government was committed to environmental protection, and it took a number of steps to conserve the state's natural resources. These included planting trees, banning plastic bags, and promoting sustainable development.
Chamling's legacy is a mixed one. He remains an iconic & popular leader who has been a vital catalyst for three decades of significant development of Sikkim. Though criticized for his authoritarian style of Government, there is no doubt he has played a major role in shaping the modern State of Sikkim… anyone can ring his doorbell 24 X 7 and Chamling is committed to finding a beneficial solution to that person's problems....
In addition to the above, Chamling Govts wisely invested in education, infrastructure, and social welfare. He also promoted peace and harmony between the different ethnic groups in Sikkim. As a result of his efforts, Sikkim is now one of the most developed and prosperous States in India.
Very rarely does a leader inspire so much trust and belief in his vision of Governance as does Pawan Chamling…. & there is no doubt he has played a major role in shaping Sikkim into a Modern State...with great wisdom he has nurtured its vibrant & ancient culture.
