Rural Tourism is not about Announcements & Policy.....it is about Implementation

The problems in #RuralTourism  in India comes from the fact that the Indian Govt is unable to inspire & recruit specialists to implement Tourism at the grassroots. The Chalo Chitrakoot Example is a model that can lead them.
Rural Tourism in India has a lot of potential, but it is often hampered by a lack of government expertise which stops after creating Policy which is a Governance blunder.  The Chalo Chitrakoot Initiative is a great example of how to overcome these challenges ….
The Chalo Chitrakoot initiative was started by Rohit Singh Negi in 2008. Negi is a Rural Tourism expert who has worked in the field for over 20 years. He saw the potential for Rural Tourism in The Bundelkhand Region of Madhya Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh, and decided to do something about it.
Rohit Singh Negi is a Tourism, Culture, Destinations Specialist . He has a Hospitality Masters from the Oberoi School of Hotel Management.
Negi's Bundelkhand Campaigns started in 2008,  by creating a Series of Films that showcased the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Bundelkhand.  He then organized Stakeholders Initiatives & Roadshow to promote the videos and to connect with local stakeholders. His Roadshows have been a success and it helped to raise awareness of Bundelkhand as a potential Tourist destination.
Negi's work has had a significant impact on Rural Tourism in Bundelkhand. The number of Tourists visiting the Region has increased and there has been a corresponding increase in economic activity.
The Chalo Chitrakoot initiative is a Model that can be replicated in other parts of India.
The Indian Government can play a role in promoting Rural Tourism by providing financial support, technical assistance, and marketing resources by trying to recruit top Line specialists like Negi. The Government can also work to create a more favorable regulatory environment for Rural Tourism businesses.
By following the example of Chalo Chitrakoot Campaigns,  the Indian Government can help to unlock the potential of Rural Tourism and create jobs and economic opportunities in Rural areas.
Specific things that the Indian Government can do to promote rural tourism:
👉Provide financial support to Rural Tourism businesses through grants, loans, and tax breaks.
👉Provide technical assistance to Rural Tourism businesses on marketing, product development, and management.
👉Market Rural Tourism Destinations through Government Tourism websites and "wise" Advertising Campaigns which really benefit locals and not just Advertising Agencies and power centers.
👉Create a more favorable regulatory environment for Rural Tourism businesses by simplifying licensing and permitting requirements.
Prevent fake "experts" who are only there to make money through "connections".
Rural Tourism has not been successfully implemented in many parts of India despite being huge potential…. and it is the reason why Govts will need to recruit more wisely….at least have one Single Rural Tourism Success Story for your Tenure in Governance .
By taking these steps, the Indian Government can help to make Rural Tourism a more viable and sustainable option for Rural Communities.
