Why Jail can be a great technique for Pro-Constitution Political Branding

Is this real?

"Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab humare dil mein hai…dekhna bazuey katail mein dum kitna hai…"

A Politician's imprisonment can become a towering symbol of a "perceived" Government's oppression of its People. This can galvanize public opinion & support for any Politician and their cause, making them a symbol of hope for those who are also being oppressed.

A Politician's imprisonment can highlight the importance of Human Rights. It can show the World that even those who are in positions of high visibility can be denied their basic rights and that this is something that should not be tolerated. World perception would change forever…& could haunt us for years to come. We could lose our moral high ground and international support. It could become an excuse for a foreign power to use a fragmented polity in "meddling" in our internal affairs .... in the name of supporting lobbies & championing "Principles of Democracy".

A Politician's "imprisonment" can inspire an entire Nation to stand up for their Rights. Seeing someone who is willing to risk their own Freedom to fight for what they believe in can be a powerful motivator for others to do the same. It happened during India's Independence Struggle. It may be the single biggest catalyst that could trigger Congress resurgence across India.

Mahatma Gandhi remains a towering  example of a figure who is an immortal icon of Human Rights because he used his Jail Terms as a technique of protest and non-cooperation, so many times. Gandhi ji is a symbol of  India's Independence Movement & was often imprisoned by The British Colonial Govt. His imprisonment was one of the reasons that elevated him into an immortal symbol of the Indian People's Struggle for Freedom and he used it to galvanize support for The Independence Movement & eventual eviction of The British from India.

A Politician's cause must be perceived as just & they must be willing to sacrifice their own freedom in order to fight for it. It seems that Rahul Gandhi is now on the eve of taking that "final step" in the defence of India's Constitution. The circumstances of his impending imprisonment, the nature of his cause, and his own charismatic personal qualities are already catapulting & defining his inevitable iconic status.

Visuals & Optics of a perceived "innocent" #RahulGandhi going to jail would bring a sharp international focus to India's Judiciary & the political ecosystem that prevails. It is fast evolving  his iconic status which  even in his silence & Gandhian strategy,  is already now testing the credibility  of India's Judiciary and Democracy …. His imprisonment could be extremely damaging regarding World perception of India's Democracy.

With a highly active Social Media which has seemingly fallen in love with Rahul Gandhi there could be a Social Media backlash resulting in  massive damage to India's stature as a Democracy & to the lofty ideals of Democratic Principles which we have stood for. Every Tom Dick and Harry International Journalist would begin taking pot shots at our Governance.

This could further elevate Rahul Gandhi into the realm of an unparalleled Icon like Gandhi ji ….. after which it would become impossible to counter his narratives.
