Vaishno Devi Teerth / Hindu Pilgrimage

Vaishno Devi  is one of the most revered Hindu Pilgrimage Sites (Teerth) in India.

The Temple of Vaishno Devi is located in the Trikuta Mountains of Jammu & Kashmir, India. It is believed that The Goddess Vaishnavi resides in The Cave Shrine of The Temple.

Vaishno Devi is a manifestation of the Hindu Goddess Durga. She is also known as Mata Rani, meaning "Mother Queen". Vaishno Devi is believed to be the embodiment of power, love & compassion.

Legend has it that Vaishno Devi was born in a village called Kakriyal, near the site of the present-day temple. She was the daughter of Ratnakar, a Brahmin priest, and his wife, Chandravati. Vaishnodevi was a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu.

One day, while Vaishnodevi was meditating, she was approached by Bhairon Nath, a Tantric Sorcerer. Bhairon Nath was infatuated with Vaishnodevi and pursued her. Vaishno Devi escaped from his clutches and fled into the Holy Trikuta Mountains.

Bhairon Nath pursued Vaishnodevi through the mountains. Vaishnodevi reached a cave and prayed to Lord Vishnu for help. Lord Vishnu appeared before her and told her to hide inside The Cave. Bhairon Nath finally caught up to Vaishnodevi, but as he entered the cave, he was beheaded by her divine force as Devi Chamunda Mata

Vaishno Devi remained in The Cave for nine months, meditating and worshipping Lord Vishnu. After nine months, she emerged from The Cave and declared herself to be the embodiment of power, love, and compassion.

The Cave shrine of Vaishno Devi is located at an altitude of 5,300 feet above sea level in the Trikuta Hills.

The Cave is divided into Three Chambers.

⏺️The First Chamber is known as the Garbha Griha, or the Womb Chamber.
This is where the natural rock formation of Vaishno Devi is located.

⏺️The Second Chamber is known as the Bhawan, or The Hall. This is where the idols of the goddesses Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Durga are located.

⏺️The Third Chamber is known as the Pindian, or the Pinnacle. This is where the natural rock formation of Vaishnodevi is said to be at its most powerful.

The Vaishnodevi Temple is one of the most popular pilgrimage sites in India. Millions of pilgrims visit the temple every year to seek blessings from the Goddess Vaishno Devi.

Here are some of the things that make Vaishnodevi so special:

* The natural beauty of the Trikuta Mountains
* The serenity of The Cave Shrine
* The powerful presence of The Goddess Vaishno Devi
* The belief that Vaishnodevi can grant boons to her devotees

If you are ever planning a trip to India, I highly recommend visiting the Vaishno Devi Temple. It is an experience that you will never forget.

Do Remember:-
Devi Rituals is a must in a proper Chronology of Destinations & as per her worship.

⏺️Banganga (Ganga river emerged from arrow),

⏺️Charan Paduka (Holy footprints)

⏺️Ardha Kunwari —the place where she is said to have remained for nine months in a cave

⏺️ and finally at Bhavan, The Cave that is now known as her home.

There, taking the form of Chamundi (a form of Kali), she beheaded Bhairav Nath. His body was held at the entrance to The Cave, and his head landed further up the mountain at a place where a Bhairav Nath Temple is now located. Bhairav Nath then repented, and the goddess granted him further salvation. In so doing, however, she laid down the condition that unless pilgrims coming for her Darshan( Sighting)  did not also get his Darshan— that is, Darshan of his head— then their pilgrimage would not be fruitful.

There is tremendous power & divine energy in this Teerth & it is best advised not to linger about too long...
