The Embassy Restaurant in Connaught Place, New Delhi, is more than just a dining establishment; it's a living piece of the city's history. 

Established in 1948 by two friends, P.N. Malhotra & G.K. Ghai, who migrated from Karachi after Partition, The Embassy has witnessed & served countless patrons over the years. 

The Restaurant boasts a rich history, having served renowned dignitaries like Lord Mountbatten, Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra & Arun Jaitley. It has also been witness to  various storms, from the Emergency of 1975 to the recent protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Through it all, The Embassy has remained a beloved institution, cherished for its delicious food, warm hospitality, and nostalgic charm.

Early Days and Legacy

In 1948, Malhotra and Ghai started the Embassy with the vision of creating a space where people could come together and savor authentic North Indian cuisine. They began with a small menu featuring dishes like Keema Samosa, Chana Bhatura, and the iconic Embassy Pudding. These dishes quickly gained popularity, becoming synonymous with the restaurant and enduring favorites for generations.

The Embassy has always been a melting pot of cultures and personalities. A devastating fire in 2014 forced The Restaurant to close for months, but the Malhotra family persevered, rebuilding and reopening with the same spirit and dedication. Today, the Embassy Restaurant continues to be a thriving institution in Connaught Place. The second generation of the Malhotra family now manages the restaurant, ensuring that the traditions and values instilled by their forefathers are preserved. They have also introduced new dishes to the menu while maintaining the authenticity and quality that have made the Embassy a legend.
