HH Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum - A Profile

Sheikh Mohammed’s early life was not wealthy. He grew up in a house without electricity and his family sometimes had to sleep together in one room. Despite this, he received a good education, attending schools in Dubai and the United Kingdom before studying at the Mons Officer Cadet School in Aldershot.

Sheikh Mohammed’s political career began when he was appointed head of the Dubai Police Force and the Dubai Defence Force at the age of 20. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming the UAE’s first Minister of Defense in 1971 at the age of 22.

As Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed has overseen the transformation of the city into a global metropolis. He has launched a number of successful businesses, including Emirates Airline and DP World, and has overseen the development of ambitious projects such as the Palm Islands and the Burj Khalifa.

Sheikh Mohammed remains a powerful & influential figure in the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East. He is a sharp businessman and a skilled politician who has transformed Dubai into a major economic and tourist destination.
