Dal Lake is a lake in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the second largest lake in the State and is known for its beauty and its unique ecosystem. 

The lake is surrounded by mountains and is home to a variety of plants and animals. It is also a popular tourist destination, and is known for its houseboats and floating gardens.

The lake is divided into four parts:  

🔷The Gagribal is the largest part of the lake and is home to the famous Mughal gardens. 

🔷The Lokut Dal is the second largest part of the lake and is where most of the houseboats are located. 

The Bod Dal is the smallest part of the lake and is home to the floating gardens.

 The Nagin is a separate lake that is connected to the Dal Lake by a channel.

• The lake is home to over 100 species of birds, including ducks, geese, and swans.
• The lake is also home to a variety of fish, including carp, trout, and mahseer.
• The lake is an important source of water for the people of Srinagar.

It is surrounded by mountains and Mughal Gardens, with houseboats and shikaras (boats) plying its waters. It offers a variety of activities, including boating, fishing, and sightseeing.
